Mid-State Checkdown HS Game of the Week

Football is right around the corner and WNSR is back broadcasting the Mid-State Check down High School Football Game of the Week. A lot of experience will be back in the booth this season. Joe Fisher will be on the call as the play-by-play man this year. This is his second season calling games for WNSR. Fisher previously spent 23 years on the call for Vanderbilt Athletics. Bubba Spears will be the fill-in voice for WNSR. The color man for this upcoming season is the Executive Producer of the Big D and Bubba Show Johnathan Shaffer. Shaffer makes his return to WNSR after previously calling Lipscomb Academy games for the station for seven years.

“I am very excited to be re-joining the WNSR crew. I enjoyed my previous stints with Adam Johnson and Greg Pogue, and others through the years. I have known Joe Fisher for a long time, and cannot wait to work beside him,” said Shaffer.

WNSR has a fun slate of games coming for this football season. The season gets kicked off on August 18th when Independence travels to Oakland. This is followed up by a matchup featuring Nolensville and Antioch. The third game on the docket includes Battle Ground Academy taking on Nashville Christian. The next week showcases East Nashville Magnet and Maplewood. That is just a taste of the action for this upcoming season and WNSR is excited to bring you another year of Mid-State Checkdown Highschool Game of the Week!
