Not long after twenty-somethings Henry Nichols and Jeff Thurn started hanging out in the press box at LP Field during the fall of 2009, they knew the Nashville sports talk market needed something fresher and edgier for the decade to come. On Sports XTRA, weekday evenings at 6, they have created a playground of verbal sparring that transcends the usual sound bytes and box scores. Sports XTRA, like AM-560's other established shows, has a listener-driven format.  From the Titans and Predators to Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb and TSU, all topics are welcomed for discussion.

Jeff Thurn is part of the new wave of talented up-and-comers in Nashville sports talk radio.  In addition to being the co-host of WNSR's Sports Saturday show, Jeff brings a blast of energy to Sports XTRA.  He attended the University of Minnesota before joining the WNSR team.  As the remote broadcast producer for the Titans training camp broadcasts as well as the Nashville Predators Pre-Game and Player Shows, Jeff has been able to get an up front view of Tennessee Sports.  Jeff has also contributed to Wazoo Sports as a color analyst for football and basketball games throughout the Southeast.

Henry Nichols is a rising star in the Nashville sports writing scene. In addition to currently covering the Titans and other NFL teams for CBSsports.com, he has written for Rivals.com, The City Paper and The Tennessean. Nichols has also edited for Athlon Magazine and Global Radio News (London, UK).
